Habanero Onion Rings

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE DISH

2 Onions

1/4 C. Water

1 C. Flour

1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder

1 Tbsp. Onion Powder

2 Tsp. Sweet Paprika

3 Tbsp. Oregano

3–4 C. Safflower Oil, For Frying

1/2 C. Habanero Condiment

Yellowbird Habanero Condiment

PREPARATION

30 MINUTES / 4 SERVINGS

  1. Preheat oven to 390˚F.
  2. Peel the onions and slice them about 3/4 inch thick. Set aside.
  3. Mix the water, Yellowbird Habanero Condiment, and 1/4 cup flour in a bowl. Mix 3/4 cup flour with the rest of the ingredients in another bowl.
  4. Submerge the onion rings in the wet mixture and then in the dry mixture.
  5. Bake them on a baking sheet with baking paper for 20–25 minutes.
  6. Or if you prefer fried onion rings, add safflower oil to a deep frying pan until it's one inch deep. Place over medium heat and allow to get hot. Place onion rings in oil for about 1 minute each. Remove and set on a cooling rack. Eat and be merry!
